WIHS is Unique!

• WIHS is Connecticut's only Christian Radio Station on the FM dial, broadcasting 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a potential listening audience of over 2 million people.
• WIHS is a Christian missionary organization with clearly articulated Statements of Faith and Purpose.
• WIHS is governed by five dedicated volunteer Christian leaders who endeavor to apply Biblical teachings to all Station operations. The total operational costs are kept remarkably low, at approximately $80/hour in contrast to an average of more than $1000/hour for comparable size radio stations in Connecticut.
• WIHS seeks to remain true to our non-commercial status. We do not broadcast frequent appeals for funds. No commercial messages are aired which would detract from the "free offer of the Gospel of Jesus Christ." Our programmers are asked to follow our non-commercial policies and limit their own appeals for financial support.
• WIHS is truly a 100% listener supported station. No one purchases air time. All programs are broadcast without charge to the programmers. There are NO contracts requiring programmers to make donations to WIHS. Nearly 94% of the annual budget is received from the generosity of listeners and churches throughout our listening area.
• WIHS has a program format that provides a good amount of broadcast time devoted to quality inspirational Christian music to complement the excellent selection of Christian teaching and information programs. Hourly newscasts, weather updates, and reports of interest to listeners are all part of our unique ministry.
• WIHS has a Staff of committed Christians, who believe and support the ministry and mission of the Station - to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ! The Staff is part of a Fellowship that includes you - as our full name proclaims: The Connecticut Radio Fellowship.
