WIHS Welcomes Three New Board of Directors!

Bill Huegel

Praise God! After much prayer, the Lord has provided three new members to serve on the WIHS Board of Directors! Members serving on the WIHS Board of Directors are dedicated volunteer Christian leaders who endeavor to apply Biblical teachings to all Station operations.

Rev. William A. Huegel, Mrs. Diane Bennett & Mr. Mark Hayden will join with the current Board Members in prayerfully seeking God's perfect will and direction for the radio ministry of WIHS.

And please remember to keep all of the WIHS Board of Directors in your prayers!!

Bill Huegel

Rev. William A. Huegel has joined the WIHS Board of Directors and will be participating in the Family Prayer Circle (Saturday evenings from 8:30-9:00 pm). Pastor Bill was born in Erie, PA & became a follower of Christ at 16. He earned a Master of Divinity degree at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 1972 & was ordained in 1974. He served as a pastor in Massachusetts for 20 years before moving to Connecticut. Pastor Bill served as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Wallingford since 1995 and retired in June 2009. He is now serving as an interim minister, as needed, here in Connecticut.

Pastor Bill began leading mission trips to Haiti and to the Dominican Republic in 1996 to some of the world's worst poverty situations. These short term missionaries help construct churches, schools and a major hospital. Their medical clinics bring medicine to the sick in both cities and rural villages. Pastor Bill continues to lead pastoral training events through the Bethesda Evangelical Mission in Haiti. He has a personal goal of helping the poor of Haiti learn to cook with solar reflectors and to bring solar-generated electrical power to the churches in villages that have no electricity.

Diane Bennett

Diane Bennett is wife, mother of nine, homeschool teacher, and librarian at heart. Her love for good literature has led her to organizing church libraries, a retirement community center's library, the WIHS Elaine Thyberg Reading Room Library, and her own family's collection of over a thousand books! Born in British Columbia, Canada, her French Canadian family moved to the U.S.A. when she was an infant. Her proudest moment was when she became a U.S. citizen at the age of 12 and her love for American History led her to a B.A. in History and French. As a wife and mother, over the years, she often found herself listening to the inspirational programs on WIHS and found them helpful as she and her husband sought to raise their family for the Lord Jesus. She has volunteered at the station with her family on multiple occasions over the years enjoying the efficient and friendly office staff! Her favorite book is the Holy Bible, the source of all wisdom and containing God's love letter to us through Jesus Christ. Two verses that have been meaningful to her are Matthew 6:33 "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you." and Psalm 51:10 "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." She looks forward to learning more how she can serve the Lord Jesus at WIHS.

Mark Hayden

Mark G. Hayden accepted the Lord in 1988. He taught boy's Sunday School for many years and led Men's group for several years. He has been involved in a variety of volunteer and elected positions in the church. Mark is a member of The New Canaan Society. He holds a Bachelors Degree from Excelsior College. He was Founder and President of Award Pest Control, Inc., and served as President of the Connecticut Pest Control Association. Mark is currently employed as a Certified Insurance Counselor advising business clients. He is also a soldier in the CT Army National Guard and served as an Operations Officer at NATO Headquarters in Kabul, Afghanistan for 18 months. He and his wife Lisa celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this past August. They reside in Southington and have two children.
