General Manager's September Greetings

“Jesus said: ‘Take heed that you not be deceived.
For many will come in  My name, saying, ‘I am
He,’ and ‘The time has drawn near.’  Therefore
do not go after them.  But when you hear of wars
and commotions, do not be terrified;  for these
things must come to pass first, but the end will not
                           come immediately.’”
.....................St. Luke  21:8-9 (NKJV)

General Manager

Dear Friends of WIHS:

Do you know there will come a time when time will be no more?  Does this truth contradict the words of Ecclesiastes which states “there is a time for everything, a season for every activity under heaven?” Not at all, for this passage clearly refers to the world in which we live, where time is the common, universal factor for every person. The words of Jesus, however, speak of a coming point in time, as we know and experience it today, when all clocks will be gone, and time will cease to exist.

This is the Day of Judgment that GOD clearly declares in His Word.  The purpose of this Day is clear.  GOD will demonstrate His perfect justice by showing mercy to all of His elect and welcoming them into His heavenly kingdom, as well as establishing eternal punishment for the unrepentant.  The righteous will enter immediately into everlasting life and joy in the presence of the Lord, while those who are unsaved, by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, will be cast into Hell.

Yes, there is a Day of Judgment coming, when time as we know it today will cease to exist.  Jesus spoke about this Day to focus our hearts and minds on His righteousness and His Kingdom.  As a well-known confession of faith states:  “Christ wants us to be completely convinced that there is going to be a day of judgment, as a deterrent to sin for everyone and as an added consolation for the godly in their suffering.”

Rick Grubbs, host of the Redeeming The Time program heard every weekday on WIHS, will be the guest speaker at our 39th Anniversary Celebration  to be held on October 4th.  As Rick often states, it is crucial to “redeem the time” while there is time.  Thank you for your faithful support this past month enabling WIHS to “redeem the time” and broadcast the Good News of Jesus while there is time for all to receive Jesus as Savior and to follow Him as the Lord of their lives. That’s why We’re In His Service.
 Cordially in Christ,

September 2008 Prayer and Praise from WIHS

A.  WIHS will celebrate 39 years of broadcasting the Good News of Jesus with an Anniversary Celebration to be held at the Mountainridge Resort in Wallingford, CT on Saturday, the 4th of October.  Rick Grubbs, host of the Redeeming the Time program which is heard every weekday on WIHS, will be the guest speaker.  Mark Olszyk, from Middletown will bring special music for this event.  In addition to the Anniversary Dinner and Program there will be special displays from area ministries.  Pray for GOD to bless and provide for all of the logistics to host this annual Celebration and that many will attend and enjoy GOD-blessed fellowship at this event.

B.  Rick Grubbs will also speak at a WIHS Christian Leadership Breakfast on Friday morning.  This will be a time for pastors and local church leaders to enjoy fellowship and learn more about WIHS and be encouraged to Redeem the Time in their own personal ministries.  Pray that GOD will bring many new pastors and leaders to this Breakfast and His presence will be real and meaningful to all who attend.

C.  Please pray for GOD to continue to guide and bless Tim and Rebecca Schnulle, and their son Ethan, as Tim leaves WIHS after nine years of service to begin a new assignment at WMBI in Chicago, Ill.  WMBI is the flagship station of the Moody Broadcast Network and Tim will have responsibility for producing the daily morning program.

D.  Faith Sharing Days for 2008 are October 23-25.  This is the ONE time of the year when WIHS encourages listeners to publicly declare their support for this special Christian Radio ministry.  Pray for GOD’s blessings in all the preparations and for many volunteers to participate by answering telephones and assisting the Office Staff.
